Battery Storage

Under NEM 3.0, batteries are becoming a crucial part of every solar panel project. The basic idea is that since the compensation for excess solar from the utility grid is very low, it’s best to store any surplus electricity in a battery for use at night or during peak hours (i.e. when rates are the highest).

Also, the latest batteries are safer and more cost effective than they used to be. We only work with manufacturers that use LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries that have been thoroughly safety tested under NFP 9540A.

Battery design requires utility bills and ideally the “green button data” or 15-minute interval data provided by the utility company. We’ll be glad to help you weigh the pros and cons of batteries and right-size equipment to meet your specific needs and goals.
